Spring break doesn't hit everywhere at once. Each state and province has its own week, so the trick is knowing whose break you'll be skiing into.
Ski outside the local break week. A mountain is busiest when its own state or province is on break; the same mountain a week earlier or later can be quiet.

Questions skiers ask
When is spring break for ski resorts?
It depends on the state or province: Quebec's relâche is usually early March, Colorado and Ontario mid-March, and the Pacific Northwest, Utah and California late March into early April. Check your local district for exact dates.
Is spring skiing less crowded?
Outside each area's own break week, often yes. Weekdays in March and April can be some of the quietest, sunniest days of the season.
